The innovative robotic packaging system for extruded aluminum

FULL AUTOMATION

The packaging of extruded aluminum and its preparation for the delivery are being carried out so far manually. The flexibility of the extrusions and the different shapes of the packaging require particular dexterity and specific expertise. It is a labor intensive operation that has a significant impact on the cost of production.

Currently there are "blind" robotic systems that can handle the packaging of simple shapes, round or square, for example. The goal was therefore to achieve full automation in this sector both for what concerns the design of the packaging (with the management of an average number of extrusion shapes of 5,000 / 6,000), and for its making up.

 

 

EVISION

The means to achieve it? EVISION, the innovative robotic packaging system for extruded aluminum installed by Emmebi at the APS Arosio Extrusion headquarters in Mariano del Friuli. A revolutionary system, which required an important preparatory work.

The first step was the construction of the tensile structure to house the robotic station. The location is that of the existing plant and the structure was made necessary by the characteristics of the machinery which, working with laser technology, requires an environment without lights.

The adventure began, and continued with the arrival of the two robotic arms in their new "home".
